Erysipeloid is an acute bacterial infection of
the skin and other organs caused by the microorganism Erysipelothrix
rusiopathiae (formerly known as E. insidiosa ). People acquire the
infection with infected fish, poultry, shellfish and animals.
Infection can be occurred by bacteria enter in the cut on the skin
that allows entry of the bacteria. People who are affected by
Erysipeloid include farmers, veterinary surgeons, butchers,
